Educational Aims

This course aims to develop participants’ ability to confidently design implant-based restorations using Exocad. It is designed to strengthen understanding of implant positioning, component selection, and restoration design across both anterior and posterior cases.

The programme focuses on building practical competence in creating accurate, functional, and aesthetic restorations, with particular emphasis on emergence profile development, management of angled implants, and the integration of TiBase and custom abutment solutions.

Through guided, hands-on learning, the course also aims to improve efficiency and consistency in digital design, enabling participants to produce predictable, manufacturable outcomes. In addition, it supports the development of critical thinking when approaching complex cases, including short-span bridges and the transfer of digital mock-ups into definitive restorations within a modern digital dental workflow.

Development Outcome

This CPD Course meets the criteria for the GDC’s development outcome C,  Maintenance and development of knowledge and skill within your field of practice.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Confidently design posterior and anterior single implant restorations on TiBases
  • Select appropriate components and workflows for both straight and angled implant cases
  • Accurately position restorations using correct implant alignment and occlusal principles
  • Create natural and functional emergence profiles that support soft tissue health
  • Design and customise implant abutments based on clinical indication and position
  • Apply screw channel angulation strategies for improved aesthetics in anterior cases
  • Design full contour zirconia restorations ready for manufacture
  • Produce short-span implant bridges with correct connector dimensions and strength
  • Design implant restorations with improved efficiency, consistency, and reduced adjustment requirements
  • Integrate digital mock-up workflows into final restorative designs
