Azhar is a dental technician with a decade of experience spanning both clinical and laboratory environments. He graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2016 and began his career shortly after, spending eight years working within an in-house dental clinic.
During this time, he progressed through every stage of the lab, including the plaster room, crown and bridge, prosthetics and CAD/CAM, before being promoted to Lab Manager. Working in-house gave Azhar a perspective many technicians don’t get, with daily contact with patients and dentists. This shaped the way he approaches lab-clinician relationships and gave him a deep understanding of how a clinic runs day-to-day.
Azhar and his wife then spent a couple of years in the UAE, exploring whether life out there was the right fit for them. On returning to the UK, he continued developing his career within the dental industry. It was this combination of hands-on technical skill, lab management experience and genuine client-facing know-how that led ALS to bring him on board as Lab Leader, a role that lets him bring all three strands of his career together.
Azhar is a creative at heart, and outside the lab you’ll usually find him picking up a new creative skill, his latest being pizza making.
