ALS are delighted to announce Norwich Ortho has joined the group

Norwich Orthodontics has become our first female led laboratory to join ALS Dental. Director Vanessa Day manages a young, vibrant and dynamic team and focuses the highest priority on team-working, developing and up-skilling employees.

Norwich Orthodontics was opened in 2008 by Derek Sandell former Oral Health Laboratory Manager at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

In 2020 Vanessa Day became the Laboratory Director and in the subsequent financial year the company achieved circa 43% growth.  Also in 2020 the laboratory moved to its current location at Hethel Engineering Centre, close to the head office and factory of Lotus Cars. The brand new facilities at Hethel include shared access to on site conference and event meeting facilities. One of the meeting rooms has the iconic Lotus F1 car suspended from the wall.

Vanessa is fiercely passionate about her team and building a happy, successful, highly skilled and diverse workforce. She is also keen advocate of women in technology and seeks to support and encourage more women to enter technology based roles.

The laboratory recently invested in its 3D printing suite to provide additional 3D printing capacity to meet demand. As a result in 2021 the company production of orthodontic appliances from intra-oral scans increased in excess of 51%.

Looking to the future the company is keen to continue to embrace and develop the use of CAD/CAM technology within the Orthodontic market sector.

Vanessa says ” My team and I are extremely excited to have joined ALS and greatly looking forward to being part of the ALS team.”
