Tim Brothers started Bristol Crown from a bedroom in his house in the 1980’s. This soon proved to be unmanageable and so a Unit was found that at the time seemed huge and a welcome relief to the then four technicians and also to his wife, who was living in a rather dusty house!

On to 2001 and we became a limited company with Nicki Lees now having bought in and becoming an equal Co Director. We continued to invest in the latest digital processes, including Lava in 2006 and were proud to launch the first independent zirconia crown in the UK, ZrSpeed, following that. Into two units now…

Tim then started the Bristol Cadcam Company in 2006 (Shortly after Nicki then took on Bristol Crown outright) to offer equipment and consumables to UK dental laboratories, and this has grown fast and gained many dealerships. Into three units….

We now had a warehouse full of zirconia, pmma, wax etc etc and expanded to a fourth unit, with a mezzanine, space was at a premium!

On to today and we really need to move. This is in our plans, but with the backing of ALS this could be realised sooner than we thought. The aim now is to have a Centre of Excellence here in Bristol, hopefully during 2023.

Tim plays International hockey for the England Masters team, travelling worldwide to various tournaments, and is well into various unusual fitness regimes, a source of amusement for his two children.
